Is anyone able to offer some advice as to how to secure a SIBS special price on one? What discount of list would you expect - on the forum I see people suggest up to 15%...? How have others faired ? As its an old ex stock model...

Have a look at Cambrian Boats in Swansea. I purchased a 6 month old 645 from them 12 months ago. Massive saving on price. No connection other than happy customer. Speak to Robin or Harry.

Yes Ive decided to go down the "used" route I agree there are some fantastic deals on new boats.
