Just paid the deposit on our new MF 695 which should be ready to hit the water around mid July.. I can't wait! :excitement:

Overview of the spec:
Yamaha 175hp Outboard.
Premier package - Port side window, port windscreen wiper and sliding roof.
Electronics upgrade - Lowrance HDS 7 touch, sonic hub and HDI transducer.
Separate heads with marine toilet and holding tank.
Bow thruster.
Windlass and anchor kit.
Fridge and extra battery.
Pressurised water and cockpit shower.
U shaped cockpit seating and sunpad.
Swim platforms with wood finish.
SBS R4-2600 trailer.

Sounds a fantastic boat - congratulations. I started out in a MF635 many years ago. MF's are great boats and great fun.

Happy for you - enjoy.

Congratulations, wipe_out, great spec.....but did you leave anything on the options list!! ;)

Haha.. It was a bit like that :) , but yes I left off the bimini, canopy sides, bow sunpad cushions (a towel will do and its easier to store :) ) and the anti theft hook.. Figure these things can always be added later if we want them..

Congratulations on your new boat. Very nice spec!

We are just starting our MF purchase process so I may have a few questions for you if you don't mind.

Congratulations, I am sure you will enjoy.

We had a mf625 some years back....could not have done without our cockpit enclosure though, doubles the size of your living space.

Congratulations.

Good call on bow cushions, most people just find the get in the way.

I did go for cockpit enclosure as well and it allows 5 of us to sleep aboard with no problem (3 kids in the bow berths, other half in the dinette and me in the cockpit on a campbed)

Thanks all.. As you can imagine I am very excited.. Definitely like a kid waiting for a new toy.. :)

@sprocker - Sure, ask away.. Happy to answer what I can..

Will see how we go without the cockpit enclosure, might end up on the "upgrades" list.. Basically we put on everything that was "needed" or would be more difficult to install later.. Things like the cockpit canopy can be added any time and with everything else we wanted (basically the whole options list except the blue hull and the bow cushions) we used up more than the budget already.. I guess that's pretty normal though, they do make the options appealing..

Superb, everything on my list except the windlass so be sure and let me know how you find it.

Looking forward to pictures in July.

The hardest thing I found was naming her, any decisions on that front?

Absolutely.. I will be sure to post a few pictures when she arrives..

Naming is already having some discussion.. Might go with "Seafari II" as a simple choice being that she is following "Seafari".. I am sure between now and July we will have lots of potential names.. :)
Open to suggestions from the forum as well, I have seen others ask for inspiration before and there have been lots of good suggestions..

The plan is to trailer full time, the reduction in annual fees is what we used to justify buying a new boat..

Will probably still be launching from Rockley though..

Launching from Rockley is I believe £40 a time with the slip being affected by a lot of tide and no pontoon to moor alongside whilst dealing with the trailer. By far a better slip is Cobbs Quay however the charges are More but you can purchase an annual pass for £550 so 14 launches and you are then cheaper than Rockley. The only downside with Cobbs is the bridges but I would guess your air draft is such that you would be able to sneak under most times.

But you missed the most important extra, the security hook. How are we going to find out what it is now!

haha,, I asked what it was.. Apparently it's a loop near one of the forward cleats that you could put a chain and lock through.. In case you want to lock the boat to the mooring.. Don't see why you couldn't use the towing eye to do the same thing..

When you get your boat in July, if you wouldn't mind, I'd be very interested to hear your experiences of how you get on launching and recovering your boat each time you want to use it...........many thanks!

I am going to be interested in the same thing.. :) I am sure the first few times will be a little uneasy but once I have the routine down I am hoping its not too much of an issue..

Honestly I haven't asked the question yet about what they will charge at Rockley.. My brother launches from Baiter and says it's pretty cheap but I believe the slipway is not very steep so I would probably have to reverse right out into the water for this size boat..

Thanks for the heads up on Cobbs.. Didn't know they had a public slipway so will have to check that out..

I think this will be a whole new mission of discovery having a boat on a trailer and having to launch and recover it.. Last boat I launched and recovered on a trailer was a 18ft bow rider when I was about 19.. :)

Baiter is really cheap in comparison to the other slips however although useable from about 1.5 hours either side of mean low water it gets very busy and as you say is shallow. The place is used by not only by boats but hoards of jet ski's all vying for a place on the concrete. I have launched a Warrior 195 which goes 1.5 tons all up but did have to unhitch from the trailer and walk it half way down the slip and worse still back up. At Cobbs I never had to unhitch the trailer and was a more casual/easy affair.
