An MD1's well worth a bit of effort to get it going, but not, IMO, worth spending much money on. A lot of parts are no longer available. If you can't get it going, for canal use, I wonder if an electric installation would be feasible? If not, I'd expect
I had one in my Snapdragon when I first got her, but it died. Someone gave me a VP2003 to replace it and the 3 cylinder, 28hp installation, even with a dedicated starter battery, was around 50 kg lighter than the 1 cylinder, 8hp lump it replaced, but it took some serious surgery to squeeze it in. Didn't half go though

I recon your first boat is something you never forget, particularly sharing it with your little one. Treasure it mate, they soon grow up, get hormones and fly the nest.

The big make over has begun!
First I stripped the cushion covers and put them through the wash (don't tell my wife)
Then started sanding back the interior paint work
Before (all of the interior is in this state):
after first sanding
but there is still time for taking her out
and doing a bit of fishing
I'm no where near a plug socket, so all work is being done with battery powered tools (which run out fairly quickly) so I am not expecting this to be a quick process. The plan is more along the lines of: start enjoying being on the water and do a little bit of work each time I take her out. If it takes a couple of years, so what?

Yep certainly a good idea , recon that if 'Andy Seedhouse' of Woodbridge fame (n locality) ever gets to a main Boat Show , Boating will have reached a new dimention

Ahoy Capt Jerry , well I am a regular 'scanner'of Andy Seedhouse offers , some quite interesting Boats arrive on His pages ; bought a couple in the past ; Noted that he has had a few 'Mirror Offshore' listed this year , guess yours was one of them ;anyways best of good fortune with you 'Offshore' even if its 'Inshore Inland' ; might mention that the best 'Depth Sounder' is a long pole , marked up in Feet not Fathoms , as there might only be the need for One Mark , {
