Hrllo friends !

I want to change the matress in my cabin , its time after +20 years .

I need 200x140cm with a thickness of 10cm and i will finecut then from the old one .

Question : what is the best material ? We like it fairly hard even when the thickness is just 10 cm .

Any recommendations ?

Best regards

If you go to a proper foam supplier/ marine upholsterer they will make up to your desired density. Forget the actual numbers but I had mine made of 75% hard, 25% softer.

I replaced our mattress with an Emma memory foam mattress a few years ago. I removed it from the cover and cut it with an electric carving knife and a long Stanley knife. Then I put it back in the cover and folded in the loose ends. It’s very comfortable.

Pretty much the same approach as me, except I used a sharpened bread knife with a wavy edge to do the cutting. I first made a card template to fit the hull shape for the vee berth+infill double and measured and marked on it at intervals the offset for the taper of the hull. I still need to sew up the loose ends one of these days.
