Saw a programme the other day about global warming and its predicted effects. Apparently the sea levels will rise at an increasing rate as the years progress. The English coastline will erode at an ever increasing rate, so that in 60 years time Doncaster will be a coastal resort. So I,m going to Doncaster tomorrow to buy a farmers field, and build a marina, I'll start by siting a few pontoons, (I thought it would be easier with the tide being out for the next sixty years).I will build all the facilities myself. I'm offering a start up promotion of £10 per metre per year for the first 20 customers.
So if anybody finds themselves driving down the M18 and they spot a yacht sat in the middle of a field, stop and say hello, it will only be me waiting for the tide.

I thought you may need a little advice, Having looked at the tide tables for Doncaster they are

Springs 2020
Neaps 2040

How old will you be then?

Do you need a deposit in advance.

libby purves got there first

i recall an entertaining article in ym where she referred to thingls like the chiltern islands, reading straights etc. i guess in that scheme, london would be marked as foul ground so perhaps it's plus ca change...

Re: libby purves got there first

I think I beat Libby by a few years. I proposed to the London Development Agency, way back in the early eighties, that they finance research into the development of the amphibious Porsche for all those whizz kids when the tide comes in over the City.

Yeah, sure. £10 per metre per year.

I know you Marina operators, you'll have some hidden charges somewhere. Come on tell us the full story!

Joe

I'll be 97, but by then the secret of eternal youth will have been discovered.

All deposits in advance gratefully accepted, please forward them to my Swiss bank account.
