New Marina for Plymouth

I see the new King Point Marina is set to open later this summer, see here:

It is set in the exciting "Maritime Quarter"

I have never heard of this location before but I sure it will be grand. I think it is the section of the huge projected building site between the docks and the Union Street red light area. Coo marketing eh.

Apparently if you buy one of the new houses overlooking the marina you get two years berthing free. The houses overlook the ferry port truck park where the refrigeration compressors run all night.

The new marina is an offshoot of the Sutton Harbour marina and will no doubt have the same pricing policy (after a first year discount) and customer service ethos. Enjoy.....

I like the the advertising line that it is located in the coastal quarter of the city. Hmmm, where else do you put a marina but at the coast?

I know the site, and I've seen the business plan. To make it profitable, they need as many rent-paying spaces in there as possible. You can guess what the consequences will be. To be charitable, the berthing arrangement are probably best described "very very snug". But it will help improve the appearance of that corner of Plymouth, so I wish them well.
