I'd love it if this came to pass. It impossible to get a fin keeler moored safely anywhere around here. I'm in Bideford against the quay wall and it's fine, but it's 5 miles up river and very tidal. Don't even float out my hole on neaps.

I know that area quite well and have always thought there should be a marina in the area. Although not perfect I think the river coming in to the Taw, behind the council offices in Barnstaple could be used. It would need dredging and a gate at the entrance but it has been used by sand dredgers for generations.
