New MAGNUM has arrived

She's registered in Jersey (outside the EU) and I live in Jersey, so sold VAT free. I can import into EU waters for 18 months without incurring any VAT charge. All very legal and just requires a day or 2 outside EU waters every 18 months.

Aside from that it makes perfect sense for PMYS to fix the usual snags during winter so we can start our trip (relatively) snag free :)

Thought this may be the case, and it certainly helps not having to pay the dreaded VAT!! :encouragement:

I wondered last week how the build was progressing as I know someone else moving to a Princess - an update on that prompted me to look for a build thread! Great to see the finished item however - looks fantastic! :encouragement: I'm sure a few small chocolate finger prints will be forgiven too... :D

Lovely boat Magnum, congrats.

How did the buying experience with Princess compare to your buying experience with Sunseeker?

Thanks :)

Two completely different scenarios. The Pred had an awful lot of custom work whereas the 68 was already specced and then tweaked. I'm also doing a fair bit of retro work.

I used to want to customise everything, but these days I focus on the big issues leaving the detail as is. It makes the whole buying process much easier and relatively stress free.

Yep that's correct. Not tried them at rest yet but underway they are superb.
They are indeed superb. You'll love them. My brother has today just bank transferred payment for a set for his new aquastar 74. That's 4 sets in our family so far...

Separately, I'm sending this from a plane above Indian Ocean. Cost = $1 (yes one dollar!) for 500mb. Just punch in cr card on the landing page, and then click to pay another dollar if you hit the 500. Bandwidth is superb though they don't let you YouTube. Emirates front cabin. Makes you think that internet offshore on a boat has got to get slicker than it seems to be right now. M, have you discovered anything new that is sensible, given that you know tech hardware well?

When we went front cabin with Emirates a few years back, I couldn't believe that I was getting such decent bandwidth for $1 (as you say... yes, $1!) - Didn't realise it was a 500Mb cap for the $1 as I was only browsing / Facebook / e-mail etc...

Given that i'm in the industry, I should really look more into the technologies used (gateway equipment, I mean)

Which makes the $400 I had to pay for Internet whilst ON the Indian Ocean seem all the more expensive !

Magnum - the boat looks superb, you must be thrilled. Well done.

Henry :)
