on the advice of Moodysabre I am reposting this thread on the East Coast Forum. Would be greatful for any advice or pointers, after Moodysabres comment re Fambridge I know think the Orwell perhaps Shotley or Levington are probably better options .

I have been thinking about moving to a different cruising area for at least a couple of years, we are currently located in the SW and initially thought about Scotland but recent threads about the weather are making us think twice. We are now considering the East coast which I know well from my childhood but not the marinas etc. Now looking at Fambridge any comments or suggestions for the Orwell or elsewhere?

Foxs is small & friendly but an hr from the sea. all tide access

From Staffordshire it might be worth looking at The Wash too. Very tidal but lovely peaceful sailing, and quite a straight forward trip if you look at where I am at the moment, but not as cheap as some places further South or North. Still learning here but it's not as difficult as I used to think for getting in or out, with a half decent engine that is.

Last time we enquired they had a 3yr waitng list for berths .. Swing mooring was not a problem
