New LIBS for ramblers and pushbikers

The outdoor show will be held on the last weekend and will be an addition to the show and wont be plonked in the middle of it all!

Without getting into a boat show ship fight I have looked at the plans for 2012 including the extention and new ideas based on extensive visitor (and non visiotr) research and its looking quite good.

It aint no Dusseldorf (and never will be) and its certainly no Earls Court (thank God).

But I think its got a fighting chance.

I am about to be the first person to apply for space.

I thought it said last 4 days of the show and I thought of the Thursday night parties being swamped by tree huggers and the like ;-)

TO give you an idea, the stand opposite me at bham this year (sim profile) sold 170 inflatable canoes to those that like trees!

And I know for a fact there are a number of owners on here with the odd inflatable canoe!

If Birmingham can make it work by inviting a few boats along with all the matching his and her anorakers and hat wearing caravanners (Hats worn inside the car) then I am sure that LIBS will benefit from the addition of a few lentil munchers (No offence to lentil munchers as I am partial to a bowl of spicy lentil soup myself, as an aperitif to my steak).

As it happens I won't be going as Excell is a soulless cavern of greyness and almost impossible to get to from the North West without a hotel and the M25 being involved.

Give me SIBS and the NEC any time.

Have you tried a Cassoulet (spelling?) of Lentils, finely chopped onion, lardons of thick cut bacon and really good sausages?!

If not, you should, it's fabulous and far more satisfying than a day at Excel.

Its all about the sausages and then you add the lentils onions etc....oh and of course the two bottles of red (one for the dish and one for you)

Ah! Last year I made a cassoulet with chorizo. Once I had chilled it and scooped out the half pint of fat, it was quite nice. Will do it with 'normal' sausage next time but a trick of mine is to finely chop some German salami and fry it until crisp. It adds pieces of intense flavour.

And yes, much better than Excel.

Richard, next time you have a heavy red wine cassoulet, offset it with a very crisp and dry white served ultra cold

I need a new pair of hiking boots, just the ticket! Or rather how do I buy a ticket, can't wait. I'll start walking today, should be there for next January, will be quicker than driving.
