Stugeron Steve has posted a reminder on the Cherbourg thread but I think its worth repeating here.
If you sail outside the UK you should get one of the new Health Cards in order to get free treatment abroad in Europe.

i usually get travel insurance as well ,as the health card doesnt cover everything eg cost of you getting home in a stretcher is frightening. Online travel insurance only costs about £10 for a week in Europe.

PS you need either your NHS number or your NI number (not both)to fill the online form in ,and its free.
