New Greek Boat tax from Jan 2014

Haven't seen this posted here (apologies if I missed it) so thought I would bring attention to the thread here

It seems you will pay an annual tax even if you enter Greek waters for just a short time.

Exactly (but I was shocked to find it also seems to include those making short visits)

What's a short visit? Some live aboard full time, some live aboard for 6 months of the year. Many keep their boats in the med or Caribbean with the intention of retiring on board. So what is shocking?

Unfortunately even two weeks means your boat will get hit for tax. :disgust:

Yes ANNUAL tax even if you are only there a short time. That's why I was shocked and why I started this thread to point to the other one.

Sorry but no sympathy from me. I face a charge of €1300 per year. All I can say is if you don't want to pay then stay away.
