New fridge for the Galley

our galley fridge/freezer combination has had its best day's, so we're looking to replace,
At Mets exhibition I came across this 24V model from Vitrifrigo, it fits in the available space,
and we like it:

but this 230V model from Bosch fits in there aswell, is bigger, and is much cheaper.

we have 2 big invertors permanently "on"
is there another reason NOT to buy this 230V fridge ?

I guess the simple question is, do you want to run the inverter all the time? If you are already doing so then not really an issue.

Get the non 24 v one Bart. And run inverter all the time. Well, not while on genset or SP of course. This is what I do, and I cannot see a reason not to. IMHO most 24 v fridges are a bit more "mickey mouse" than high end fridges made for houses

Check sub zero - best fridges in the world but they might not do one 60 cm wide, in which case Bosch is likely excellent

As I recall, the biggest problem with your current one is that E kept filling it with (delicious) food, hence leaving space for pink and white wine at a premium!

Another thought Bart is that if you have a couple of galley fridges you might want 2 inverters. I did this on match 2: one inverter for the left fridge and another for the right fridge. This means that if you suffer an inverter failure you don't spoil a holiday by having no refrigeration or having to run a genset at night to make 230 v. Worth a thought...

Edit- doh, ignore that, I see you already have 2 inverters on the uber high spec BA!

exactly my feeling,
fridges for houses are cheap, low consumption, light weight, and keep running almost forever
the marine fridges do none of the above.

I've only got one fridge in the Galley, so this must be bigg, the old one was only 50cm wide, but a 60cm will fit, so that Bosh will be the biss.
Actually all the cabins have small 230V fridges, (thats our spare cold space).

our old fridge ran too long in "Overdrive" to get these huge volumes of fish and pink wine cooled to a consumable temperature. ;-)
