Has anyone bought one / taken delivery under new ownership?

Also, can anyone think of any pitfalls or safeguards one should think of if considering a "new" boat comprising a hull constructed under "old Fairline"....

I have been given some guidance but let's just say that would be..... slightly biased.

...just an idea I am working on at present ;-))

I assume it's a stock boat and therefore complete?
In which case the risk is pretty low. I know the new fairline guys well and I'm sure there wont be any warranty issues.
It might be worth having a full survey done for peace of mind - I guess your question concerns the build quality just before they went bust

Ha, I hope that's not me your referring to! When I tell you guys Fairline are the best, I do it purely out of public duty to prevent you from buying an inferior marque.

Anyhow, ref the model that we corresponded about, new Fairline have built 4 or 5 of them so the stock boat may not be from 'old' Fairline. Not that it matters much. Of course, if you look at the builders certificate it will give you all the details.

Ahhh no sorry Petem - I meant the dealer :-D

Having a look at it tomorrow hence want to forearm myself with a few questions

In theory the hin will have been stamped when the hull was cast which may give you a clue.

The factory are in my view a reputable lot and if the boat is built then your financial risks are the same as buying any boat.

Build wise the people that built it are the same as before as they hired a subset of the workforce.

Just take a good look as with any boat new or old.
