The exhaust exits on the underneath of the counter sort of almost vertically downwards. When the boat squats under power it goes underwater (just). One of those flap valves wouldn’t work I’m afraid.
I have a similar transom. You can fit the rubber flap type, which should hold up over gravity but they are ugly and there is a question of some amount of back pressure in the exhaust. Never fancied it myself.
In theory it should be possible to have a neat fitting with a unobtrusive valve within but I could not find one when I was looking.
