My Lewmar concept 1 must be changed, which one do you suggest me as the next one.Has Lewmar improved their building quality, the old one was I find a poor design in term of corrosion. Thanks

Maxwell. I am on my second one, having replaced the original with one that has a capstan. Early ones had a problem of corrosion of the top casing of the gearbox but a redesign to add drain holes seems to have solved that one. They were the fastest and most powerful when group tested by YM but came second due to their higher purchase price.

I sold the old one on. The new owner tells me he is delighted with it.

OTOH Weir appear to be more corrosion resistant and I like the design very much. When I bought the exchange rate £ - $Au was poor, so the Weir priced itself out of contention. That may well have changed now, so worth a look.

Not a Lofrans alloy one - corrosion a special design feature..... And at 8 years old spares for the corroded bits apparently unavailable. My drum has been on order for 18 months,,,,,,

Is that with Peachments ? I tried to contact them regarding a Lofrans cct breaker last year but they had no details at that time. I just wondered if there ia any more news from Lofrans re their product availability, do you know ? I suppose I should contact them again directly...
