New Dinghy Beware of VIAMARE

:D:D

I think you lot are being a bit hard on Lloydroberts. I think he's basically just trying to say that the OP was making a bit of a non-point in his original post, and I agree with this: the OP bought a dinghy of questionable provenance off ebay, it didn't work out, he got his money back from the seller. End of story, whoop-de-doo. I'm not sure the OP is right to start slagging off the manufacturer, precisely because of the point that Lloydsroberts makes - which is that it is impossible to know how the ebay seller got hold of the stock.

Aha, the ploy worked, now we know the real identity of the importer.:o

Thank you jtb.

it's a shame that one can't express an opinion without those that disagree making snide remarks.

Nah, it ain't a shame. In a sense, it's the beauty of the cyberspace.
Indeed you could express your opinion, and you did.
But very the same goes for anyone else who disagree with such opinion.
So, you knew beforehand that they could reply, and there's no reason to be surprised when they do.

Re. "snide remarks", c'mon, it's only a forum... Cheer up! :)
Besides, think about it: if someone genuinely can't see the reason why you got out of bed to support a company that should more aptly be called a box mover (with the trick of using misleading names on top) rather than a manufacturer, there isn't a very elegant way to put it.
It's just a matter of calling a spade a spade, not of making snide remarks.

All that said, strictly in terms of method, I agree that your objections made sense, and in this respect I can see why JTB supported them, in principle.
But, and it's a big but, c'est le ton qui fait la musique, you know...

Going back to the Viamare inflatables. I bought two off Ebay from the German seller and they are both still fully inflated after two years. The material looks a bit like beach toy stuff but the fittings are all surprisingly good quality and if kept out of the sun apart from when being used should last a decent while. And at around £150 each there's not a lot to complain about. Oh, and I'm not importing them!
