My estimates were based on 100% duty cycle which is very much worst case. It was not clear from the literature that the heater only runs now and then, and this seems very difficult to quantify. At least it's under £100 worst case!
My current thoughts are to get an AmberDry and a kWh meter and record the actual use. Certainly I'm inclined to believe the advantages of the AmberDry technology at lower temperatures.
Locally (Paisley) B&Q don't stock the AmberDry: shame, I could have got my parents to get me one with 10% discount!
