Sorry, didn't realise tipping plant diesel over the quay from a bowser would have the relevant duties and VAT paid.

Makes no odds to me what you burn Haydn, just seems that open discussions on forums may well lead to more checks in marinas and ultimately may lead to us having to buy white.

What are you talking about man?

I fill with a bowser all the time (my own). The VAT is paid when I fill the bowser. Stop talking jibberish!

The discussion is about over pricing and restrictive practices. Perhaps even illegal practices. Or a cartel.

There is no law against useing "Plant diesel" It's heating oil, or same stuff as the marina sells. Only I can make an assumption as to how much is used for prepulsion.

Fair play to the marina, If I say 20/80 or what ever, thats what they charge. As I understand. Problem is, they charge to much.

I'll tell you what i'm talking about, as you obviously can't work it out for yourself.

I'm talking about one member posting a suggestion that he deliver red diesel in a bowser to another member for use in his leisure boat. Said first member being easily traced to here : http://www.howardplant.co.uk/ Other member very easily traced by reading a few of his posts on here and looking at the pictures he's posted of himself and his boat.

Anyone caught deliberately evading fuel duty will likely be subject to some hefty fines, or confiscation of the boat. You can declare any split you like, whether they accept it or not is another matter. HMRC are almost certainly the nastiest, most powerful force in this country, they are not to be messed with.

Makes little odds to me, i just don't think this is the place for such discussions. Crack on though.
