I'm likely to get one of these - but then I was brought up on Macs and although now a PC based IT Manager I still think Macs are better (for me!).
This one is gonna be Sub £500 for the base unit and the size of a large external CD drive - the ones you used to plug into the parallel port....

However, if you don't know jack about Macs then your probably better off buying another PeeCee ..

Linux is brilliant if you know what you are doing. Windows is rubbish, but will tell you what to do if you don't know. If you do know, and are in Windows it will still tell you what to do which is irritating, and then not do it - even more irritating!

And Oldhand, I have always used AMD (by default!) and never yet had any problems. (But I do not go for PC gameing which I think is where they fall down?) I also have a Pentium laptop that seems far less useable - but maybe thats Windose?

Acshully, it is the other way around, I choose AMD particularly for gaming over the Pentium. It is the 3D bit in the Athlon that makes them better. Though also, I have never had a problem with any other software either from using an AMD. Much better value than Pentium.
