Just saw an advert for Force 4 advertising for staff for their new store opening in Plymouth shortly. I wonder where it will be.

Yacht Parts are in the process of moving from Queen Annes Battery to premises very close by.

I was in Yachtparts the other week, they are moving to just outside the QAB charging area cos the service charges were getting prohibitive. Apparently Force4 is moving in to where they were. Personally I will support yachtparts if I can cos Force4's range of stock has little depth and they seem to be becoming a monopoly supplier without passing on their buying power in either price or variety.

Hmmmm...getting a little crowded in that little area now with three chandlers (YPP, Marine Bazaar and now F4) serving two marinas (QAB and Sutton Harbour) plus maybe the local Cattewater moorings. Yachthaven has a chandler on site as does Mayflower. So there's a least five chandlers serving the Plymouth market whereas there's only one chandler (I think) at Shamrock Quay serving Southampton which has at least three marinas plus boatyard and drystack. Doesn't seem to make much sense?

Plus Aquafax a short walk from QAB and a small chandlery at Yacht Haven Quay

I can't directly comment for my erstwhile colleagues south of the border, but I believe they welcome anyone! :p (It is open to the public and holds both commercial and leisure oriented stock)

And Stuart has been known to allow a bit of nonsense now and again! ;)

There is ?? Didnt know that . Not familiar with the actual fish quay but always thought it was restricted access to the public . Please educate me.

Ok, I requested permission to make an international call South of the Border :p and have been told that the area of the fish quay where the outlet is based is completely open to the public with public parking also...

Thanks for that Fishy will look that up when next in the area .

Personally I would welcome force 4 to Plymouth. Always felt that the place lacked a good chandler. YPP is quite expensive, bizzare marine seem to have a stranded pricing policy, some bits a bargain, others daylight robbery. Always found Force 4 well priced and will move heaven and earth to get you the bits you need.

Have found Force 4 will go the extra mile. They stayed open in Bristol one night till 8 so I could pick up a liferaft.

The one time that I have been to the chandlery in the fish market the staff could not have been more attentive and helpfull
