Hi, Looking for a little advice regarding a replacement canopy. I have a 1997 260 Chaparral Signature, usual mass market US boat, similar to a bayliner, with a "camper" cover over the cockpit. After 13 years however, this has seen better days, I am a having a huge problem finding anyone who can replace this as the boat is located in St Kats, Central London, and not economically trailerable (not least as I dont have a trailer) ... Can anyone suggest any solution, e.g. pattern maker, importer from US, or a sail / canopy maker that is likely to cover this area .. without the extreme prices I was quoted previously by companies located south coast who would travel up for 3K!. Many thanks...

Although he is not quite in your area, I couldn't recommend JB Yacht Services enough. He made a replacement canopy for our Sealine C39, complete with additional support bars for under £1400. It looks better than factory. (not difficult, as Sealine went to JB when they had problems with the design of their in house canopy.....)

As far as quality goes, you will not get better on the South Coast!

Depending on how bad your old cover is there are companys who will make a new one using the old one as a pattern. You will have to fit your own poppers though.

Have you tried contacting Chap direct in the states, we found a dealer in florida who would ship us parts but a cover would be expensive to ship. I would find a local boat cover maker to copy yours. It will cost you over a grand but a new one was over £3000 when the boats where new.
