Am looking for a reputable company based on Thames to either repair existing or make new canopy
for Crown 37. Also would changing it from Black to say Burgundy devalue boat ? Don't really want the
ubiquitous dark blue.

Theres a chap that works for himself at walton marina, he makes a nice job of things. I give point people in his direction when i have too much work on. Makes em the old fashioned way with nicely stitched seams, not these high frequency welded jobbies

Don't know his name and number do you Barry ?
When you have too much on are you in the business then?
Would Burgundy devalue Crwon 37 Broom?

The company is BEHC marine trimming, 01932 269969, ask for Robert. Yep, for my sins i am in the business among other things!, Not really come across the colour of canopies changing the value too much, unless its pig ugly of course!!

The guy a Bourne End Marina has a good reputation but I think he is generally stacked out with work, a good sign? I was impressed with the job he did on my mate's boat Fly Away.
Burgundy shouldn't devalue the boat, why should it? IMHO white is terrible as it looks so tatty after a season or two. Any darkish colour hides the wine, food & vomit stains

Hi Byron

Just want a change from the Black want to brighten her up a bit. Would have to get the black coaming
bits done to sides of aft deck also. I did get the guys at Penton to look at it "The Trim Shop" took over
a month to return quote after reminding then after two weeks. Then the only priced for a new one
and not the alternative repair quote I wanted.

Re: Hi Byron

Yeh! a month to quote doesn't exactly inspire you with confidence does it. I have the self same problem with carpets, they only dropped the samples in today yet measured me two weeks ago. I wanted it done by now.

Re: Hi Byron

Don't bother with the Trim Shop - I had them make me a cover on my old boat when I was on the Thames a couple of years ago - it was shite - had a list of over 30 faults - they repaired about 8 of them and I never saw them again. On the other hand they didn't get paid either. All above IMHO!
