Hot off the press is, as title says, is a new book. BTW no connection!

We arrived back here 6 months ago and the old Canaries Guide had gone extinct ten years ago.

Just released is a definitive 'Cruising Guide To The Canary Islands', Imray. Priced around 34 euros.

Have trialed it round Lanza and N. Fuertaventura this week, its very good and I would recommend it with no hesitation.

Big well done to the authors! Have links if anyone is interested.

That one is only €1.99, so you could buy 20 copies for the same price as the one being promoted by Captain Sensible. In the current economy maybe it's time to give up sailing and take up birdwatching?

I spent e35. Wasted money. Anchorages being promoted as good, poor holding on stone. Las Teresitas on Tenerife--- stone, subject to horrific katabatic gusts. Described as " peaceful ,3 to 9 metres on sand". Anchored in 3metres( stone) you would swing onto the artificial reef protecting the sandy beach. This in turn prevents the tide from cleaning the sand, which is filthy. I will be writing to Imray,the publisher.

Why dont you email the writer direct? The address is in the book and they specifically ask for information. Imray wont care, they will. I noticed a couple of things, emailed them and got a very quick reply.

Ive been involved with a different pilot book myself. Its billions better to get direct feedback. Bet you just get waffle from the publisher!

Assembling and publishing information - about hundreds (possibly thousands) of moorings, locations, etc as we do - is an imperfect operation, even though as in our case it is based on 10,000+ km of personal cruising through the network and David Edwards-May our editor has been a respected waterways expert for 20-30 years.
We take the responsibility very seriously but there are always a few simple mistakes, missed things, things that have changed, etc. Feedback from the grassroots, pointing out such gaps, is greatly appreciated; we can never be all-seeing, all-knowing.
