Came across these on the interweb

Carianda
Monachus

They look very nicely styled on the outside to me although the interiors look a bit basic. Carianda is based in Turkey and Monachus in Croatia

How long before UK builders start sub contracting part of their production to lower cost areas like E Europe in order to save money and reduce overheads?

the Monachus I know well, Carianda heard of them but never really invistigated well

I thnk both these countries in this case Croatia and Turkey are above the average conuntry trying to entering the boating buisness, as both of them are not new to boats, having among the most visited and crowded cruising grounds

I think that for boating wood work Turkey is among the best in the World, but the prices have gone up in recent years
watch for Peri and Numarine
a country having some attention seems also Tunisia along with Poland...

What makes you think that is not already happening ACROSS europe boat builders ?

I know of a Luxury yacht Co. that subs it's hulls and main structures to Eastern Europe builder from first prototype through all builds still today.
Same builder builds all the models of a Swedish upper bracket yacht line ... complete ready to launch.
Polish builders providing hulls and decks to names frequently mentioned on these very fora.
The list goes on.

If Porsche and VW can have Cayenne and Touareg built in Brataslava - why can't a few boat co's do it ?
