Pull dipstick out, wipe clean, replace and remove again, then place on some blue paper tissue, you can then see how far up the oil is on the dipstick.

Get a longer dipstick

Pull dipstick out, wipe clean, replace and remove again, then place on some blue paper tissue, you can then see how far up the oil is on the dipstick.

Then post here about blue paper in the sump.

He means press paper against the dip stick.

Used some course emery paper to roughen up bit of the dipstick with the indented level lines.
Clear oil attaches itself to the hatching better than the rest of the dipstick.
