Now I know these type of questions seem to be asked a lot but here goes.

I could be in the marked for a new/new to me boat.

I normally go out in the Thames estuary all times of the year fishing and fun. 3-5 blokes and some beers on board.

The boat I have at the moment is 27ft and feels good size wise.

I have about 35K to spend and was wondering if could do better than the likes of a Mitchell/Newhaven/nelson type. This is the kind of thing I am looking for but for the money they seem to be at least 20 yrs old.

Is this a problem and is there something of the same ilk but maybe newer that I could be looking at. The Seawards look nice but for the money I am looking at 23ft.

Any ideas??

Do quite like the look of the Newhaven Sea Warrior.

Mitchells, Newhavens, Seawards all seem good to me for your useage. Won't the Seaward 23 be a bit cramped after what you've got and with a full complement of anglers ? At least 50% will be taken up by accomodation which you may not need. If it is OK then also consider the Orkney Day Angler 24 which possibly has a larger cockpit, will be a fair bit faster and probably newer too.

You should get a good Seawarrior for your money. Agree they look the business and should be a good sea boat.

The Seaward is a great little boat but as already said probably too small for your needs. How about an Aquastar or Aquabell, again it would be older but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Or a boat like mine, an old Channel Island 32, I'm very pleased with mine, it's actually a Channel Fisher which is the same hull as the CI32 but with a smaller galley and heads but larger cokpit. I use mine mostly for diving but the cockpit is large enough for probably 8 fishermen. And it will sleep 3 with ease.

I will look out for Aquastar and Aquabells though.

Any pictures of the CI32 fisher?

I know they are older but for cockpit space and generally good hull you could do a lot worse than look at a Princess 32. Huge cockpit with good all round side protection and you'd have plenty of slack in the budget to make sure the mechanicals were in sound shape.

I was under the impression that the princess type boats were more cruiseing oriented. Must admit I've only seen them from afar though. Didn't imagine them to be an angling option. Am I wrong?
