This is a sneak preview of my new boat, it's in the middle of work being carried out, with a lot of the dials at the helm being re positioned. Note the plotter (which has sonar and DSC call log) has replaced the revs and speedo dials, auto trim tab control will replace depth next to tab control and depth will go left of hi fi remote. VHF DSC will fit below the two dials mentioned above which are now relocated to the lower left panel, plenty of space in the engine bay, nice shiny props with power and hydrolic steering, plus a strong looking trailer to get me to Poole in one piece /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Got 30mtrs of chain and 30mtrs + of 12mm rope with a 10kg Bruce on the end of the chain to use on my windlass, so it should be OK at Studland /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nothing too interesting to see at the moment, more technical that I had been chatting to Duncan about. Went out and bought my spares kit today, belts, filters and impellor, bl..dy expensive /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif and I may never need them /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Still better to be 'safe' rather than sorry /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Do you like the brainwave for the plotter postion /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Rev counter will go lower left so can still be seen, speed will be on the plotter anyway. I have been limited for room, the LCD EVC display is 110mm x 110mm that gives digital data out including mpg, but I can't find anywhere to fit it, plus it was over £1k so maybe better to forget about it, the only data you get that the other dials don't give is the mpg. The other EVC controls are out of shot lower right.

I like the ideas , and the helm layout in general is what I'm trying to get my grp man to do on mine . More pics required though , inside , and all the normal supposedly boring ones . If you don't I'll be forced to try and copy SWMBO 's drawing of the layout she wants , and post that .

Looks great, is she at Marina Marbella's at Hamble, think I saw it arrive the other day.

Seems everyone is getting a new boat, must have been about six or seven new shrink wrapped boats arrived at Hamble the last couple of days plus two Nordhavn's on their own bottom, think there are about five of them lined up on the pontoons.

"tied up riight now"

So how are you typing on the keyboard, with your teeth? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif You're in for a good weekend then if it's started already /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks, No, she is further up the coast, but spent last weekend on the quay in Southampton. The guys at the dealers are really working hard so that she will be ready to race Chas at the Yarmouth meet next week /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Both Chas's and mine have the same engines but it seems I may be a little heavier /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Been following your tale of woe for some time now, and suffering your dissapointment along with you. at last, this looks like you are over the hump, the boat looks smashing, and the mechanicals superb!
I am wondering about your reasoning to put the depth sounder so far out of eyeline tho. Mind you, it's not the east coast, is it?!!
Best of luck to you.
My new tanks will soon be ready, and I'll at last have the range to get from Suffolk to the south coast, and on to Cherbourg so will watch out for your beaming smile if our paths cross!

The depth sounder will be straight in my eye line, at the moment it is the silver circular guage to the right of the hi fi remote and will be moved to the left of the remote in the space shown there. I will also have sonar with depth on the plotter, this can be viewed split or full screen, so double depth guages for safety /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Perhaps see you on the South Coast in the Summer then /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

heading for the final table in a reasonably big poker game $30,000 available - just left it courtsey of a FH in the hands of the chip leader v mu nut flush............ /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

anyhow looked at them all and you seem to have one 'loaded' boat there - nice installations but very busy.

i reckon weaver davits are a realistic option - you have more of a bathing platform than me!

dralex - the sounder shows on the plotter screen right in the centre

I see what you are aiming for now. Yep, that should work.
My depth sounder is an ancient Stowe and just gives numerical info - no pretty pictures. We can count the number of times it has been into double digits on one hand!
The other problem is that anythign over a trot and the numbers flash. Presumably this is due to turbulence or nearby submarines or something /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Off to the jumble tomorrow, so might splash out on one of the clever fish finder things with a display of depth behind the boat. Are these any better? I mean, numbers I can get to grips with, but a thick black line with the occasional fish floating past...
FLS is so 2005 isnt it? ;-)

I am thinking its a Larson??

I lurve those props! Mind you you wont see them often and the 'Gludy' blue looks nice.

Make sure you put plenty of fenders out if you raft up next to us next weekend.

Yes you're right, I must say not just because it's mine but the boat looks stunning and that's without the full valeting polish and A glaze. It's got aircon and reverse cycle heating so that will be nice during chilly evenings. I've also changed the steering wheel, so a new one is being fitted, just need a radar arch now /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The blue looks fantastic but will show up all the dents and scratches easily, perhaps I need those sock things on my fenders.

As for 'gold plated props', well you have to be a bit different don't you /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif And with 260hp of D4 Volvo Penta power and torque spinning them, I'm sure she will shift /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Anytime your ready Pete /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Looks good, look forward to seeing it at Yarmouth!! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
