New boat dissapointment

Sorry to hear more woes, just for your info once it's fixed The reason it leaks could be because of frost damage, very important to drain all taps of water and leave turned on when leaving the boat, this way any water left in the pipe or tap will drain completely and not freeze and break a pipe or tap unit.

Is this boat moored in the arctic circle? not been cold enough here, must be of old standing.

it's been on hard standing off the Hamble..... It was all working before, we've had some minus temperatures recently overnight so thought it may have been that... Especially as we couldn't drain the water out

If any consolation I have not drained my system (just forgot) before the cold snap so I may be facing the same situation. Just have not had chance to get down there to check and also drain. Fingers crossed, or another bill to come in. All part of the fun of owning a boat

I've had the transom shower hose come off about 3 times over winters despite draining the system, although have to admit I'm not always that through :o
Also every boat I've had has had a bilge pump come loose at some point.
Welcome to boating, there is always something to fix :)

Yes, it doesn't take much to cause a problem. I unscrew my shower head from the hose, and replace with a copper bung. I cover the tap and area with bubble wrap to give a bit of insulation. This has worked to date. This will also give you an easy place to pump out the calorifier with the dinghy pump.
