Looking at getting new boat covers fitted to our boat dorel 250. anyone know a company in the Hamble area.

I recently used www.tecsew.com , excellent service and quality, I have no hesitation in recommending them, based in Gosport but will travel.

Solent Covers did a great tent for my 255.
Sanders did a great tonneau.
Both Lymington based. but suppose will travel..
Look around the marina to see what other people are buying, and check out the fit and finish.

Another vote for Karen at A1 covers; she made a good job of a tonneau cover for me, at a competitive price (about 70% of the price quoted by tecsew, incidentally).

Have never used Jim B but have heard many people say good things about him although - allegedly - he may not be the best choice if you're in a hurry ......

Thanks for the information, a great help will call Karen tomorrow, also solent covers, I have used JB before, great job, the covers were first class, the only problem was they were tight and SWOBO finds it difficult to do them.

We're you shown how to fit them, as there is a technique? It's usually important to do up the zips last, as these tension the covers. If you do zips first then the covers will seem too small or too tight. Also connect the first and last studs in a row, which will stretch the material, and any studs in between will then do up easily.

Covers should be tight, especially when new.
