A friend had his brand new 37ft Brav. delivered. When I saw it, it was in a cradle on the hard. He ordered it so he could save the cost of treating the hull (epoxy and antifouling) and do it himself. On close inspection of the area below the water line, the keel although primed already show areas of rust. The rubber saildrive gater was half hanging off and there were many chips in the (below waterline) gelcoat , many right through to the matting. one large patch had been covered by a label.
It had me wondering would these items be treated and repaired in the 'agents commissioning fee' or would they have been just painted over???? The saildrive gater one would assume be refitted, has it would be easily spotted.

Keep looking. I found bits well into the first year of ownership. Trust no one, especially anyone who has a financial interest in NOT fixing your boat.

I bought a new boat this year in Poland - had it delivered to Gdansk. I missed the launch by about five minutes! They spent two days fitting it out, and they made an excellent job of it.

This is the boat: Prospero.
