Hello guys and gals,
I started a blog about my family and our journey to become liveaboard cruisers. I posted in the lounge, but they said it was too 'boaty' for the lounge. Whatever that means. Anyhow, I thought I might try here.

Anyone interested in taking a look at our blog and giving honest feedback? I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks.

Here it is http://5kidsandaboat.com

Galaxy,
I am no expert but having designed my own website I know how much work goes into them so here is my feedback for what it is worth.
Wordpress is excellent so you have chosen a good way to make a website.
It is very well written, and has photographs which are important.
I am not a fan of the continual scroll pages as they go on too long. You need a way after each blog to get back to the top of the page easily rather than having to scroll all the way back (easily added).
A map of where you are and have been is good and something a lot of people asked me to put on our website (see the link for the maps we use) http://www.cygnus3.com/where-is-cygnus-iii-now/
The headings for the various pages in your title (home crew etc) are a little faint making them easier to miss.
As I say, I am no expert and these are minor things.
I really did enjoy it though and it is clear, well written and interesting. Good luck with it as I know how much hard work has gone into it.

4 or 5 kids to keep entertained and educated! That seems like a very big ask but good luck. Enjoyed the blog and the photos but I must admit to being a sail boat person so a "liveaboard trawler" would not really be my thing. Now, if you decided to go for a big cat............

Thanks for the great feedback!!! This is the first website that I have ever done. I took your advice and changed the menu color, so it's easier to see now. It took me a while to figure it out, but I did it. I'm also going to include a map, great idea. We are in the boat purchasing stage now, so I'll probably wait until we have it until I do that. Thanks again!

Thanks for the feedback Richard!!! 4 of my kids are older 11,12,12,13, so I'm hoping that they will be able to take charge of the online schooling themselves without a whole lot from me...We'll see....

We considered Cats, but I love the trawler space and I din't want to deal with sails and wind.
