Thanks, that was a really interesting read. Are his books translated ?
Is it true about it being OK to drink sea water ?
Better than the anal irrigation method (!) - I need to know if I am to be ship wrecked. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
They are translated, although not always easy to get hold of, I've read a couple of them and found them interesting. Haven't tried drinking seawater but would try it in extremis!
I read "The Bombard Story" having found a copy in a 2nd hand book shop some years ago. He worked out that you can drink up to 2 pints of seawater a day, without killing yourself. He also said that he preferred the taste of Atlantic seawater to the Med.
I had no idea htat he had gone on to do so much, but I am not surprised.

[/ QUOTE ]Did he touch on the suitability of urine (one's own, of course) and the relative merits of pee vs sea-water? It seems that a pint or two of sea-water, and a pint of urine, would go a fair way for survival. Packing empty bottles in the life-raft seems to be a goer?
Readers of 'Dune' would probably feel a still-suit with heel-pumps to be the most approprate survival-suit, it would even catch sweat. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
