Never Ending East Coast Quiz - 11A

/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Oxford Companion to Ships and the Sea, pg 864 "length in feet taken from the forward side of the stem under the bowsprit and measured at deck level to the aft side of the stern post..." Not sure this is actually correct, as other sources indicate that it should be the aft side of the stem and the forward side of the stem post at the water line. Obviously on transomed boats it has little effect, but on someting with a counter, the change in tonnage is large!
