Met office and windy mentioned it yesterday if not earlier. It has only recently become windy in my part of Surrey.
This site Windycator v2 - Live weather reports from coastal stations and offshore buoys is good at showing live wind speed and direction though at present speeds and directions seem all over the place.

60mph gusts at Jersey airport this morning as we boarded the flight to Heathrow....! The plane was shaking somewhat when on stand and they had to wait for the wind to drop to be able to load the luggage.
Though it was right down the neck of the runway so in the end wasn't too bad during takeoff

Just got back from employing my entire collection of rope.
Some of it well overdue a trip to a washing machine.
