Regarding the distribution curves, I regret botching the groupings. You may have noticed that the curves' otherwise smooth slopes are notched - that's because I have chosen arithmetically equal spacing for steps between the tenfold increases. It would have been better to go 1-3, 4-10, 11-30, 31-100, etc. And yes, it is in some ways a waste of valuable time, but then so is another of my hobbies, beachcombing, and this is a way of keeping up to speed on office skills - you never know when they may come in handy.

How else is it possible to fit out without enriching the chandlers - oh, OK, there are the marina skips as well I suppose. But Beachcombing is a lifestyle statement, not a waste of time!

There are many ways to manipulate these figures. A post-per-day quotient would help smooth out the graphs as there are new forumites who are still low on posts and old forumites who are, frankly, as waste of effort.
The most amazing thing I find is that a forum which is known to be an active and re-active site has so few active members. It's what you expect of a single interest site. I was a member of the Foxcub site which seemed to have about 5 members who would post once a week. I saw one of their boats looking even less frequented, chocked up at Derwent Water last week.
It seems that I have over-posted on here and will probably fade away to a meagre rate as I find more important things to do.
But let's face it, it's bloody good fun and even if Cliff upset a few Methodists recently, well, what the hell. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

The stats for the non registered users would make even more fascinating viewing. These are the vast majority who drive ybw's advertising rates (page impressions drive advertising rates). At this moment in time, 16 registered viewers, and 582 anonymous (not registered or logged in) who are simply browsing the forums, or have arrived via a search engine to read a specific post, or maybe search engine robots
