and this is the last boat you would think has a tender garage....

Slightly odd set of pix though? They seem to show the boat at different stages of its life. In the first few the foredeck is clear - methinks an interesting proposition for leisure users trying to work the lines. Towards the end of the set there is a running rail down the centre of the type favoured for clipping on in order to perform the sort of tasks that can be impeded by an outer safety rail.

yes indeed I noticed that, the interior pics are the finished article, strange a lot of the exterior pics are not. Still I think it is rather wonderful.

I always wanted to (but never got around to) fit those spinning disc windscreen things (sorry, don't know what the proper name is) when I had my Aquastar.

Looked seriously at Nelsons when I bought my Aquastar. Bloody narrow and bloody wet! Looks pretty but he will need to find a real enthusiast to get that price....

A 36 year old hull, power wise probably over engined? with 2 x 480hp in a very narrow hull.

I would say likely selling price south of £100k?

I'm struggling to see the wonderfulness...
Leaving aside the wet hull,

...this thing runs at a heck of an angle with those big motors. I can't figure out what the GRP work under the hull is for - maybe to try to cure this?
...cockpit layout is absurd. One bench - was he designing a bus stop? There is just not enough beam on these boats. And an ugly crane right in your face, urgh
...to dine you raise the teak floor on one of those besenzoni gizmos. Literally, you are eating your food on the floor. Niiiice
...There are some nice (ish) bits of fit out and then there is a printed Formica fake wood grain front on the cheap caravan fridge and one of those cheap conical shower mixers like in a Travelodge. The inconsistency is odd

There are some absolutely beautiful picnic boats on the planet, way way nice than this

Very nice, got to be a bit of a wallet-emptier to run. The interesting hull modification right aft must be to make her plane better(?).

Do you ever have that feeling that you've done just a bit too much to improve something?

H,mm bit like buying a Sunseeker bolting a 12" rubbing band round the boat, then fitting some nice wood effect lino to complete the 40 knot roughty tuftie workboat effect. ?

I had what was effectively a scale model of the 41 a Halmatic 34 if a bit wider in the beam bur still a round bilge aft and a deep vee forward.

Mine originally had 2x 130hp and when I bought it 2 x 180 Mercruisers, when those had spat their insides out, I fittes 2 x 265 hp so twice original design hp , but ideas on engines changed over the years. My boat was well out of the water at 22 knots at 25 to 26 knots it was 50% out of the water, it did not feel stable and when you turned at full speed it heeled out, a bit unnerving. There was a view that the large rectangular rudders were partly to blame?

the 41 probably started life with 2 x 180 Ford Sabres?

granted its well over engine and that has certainly had serious issues with weight and balance also the tender garage means that almost the entire cockpit floor has to raise so just the one bench, obviously he got excited when he realised a tender garage was possible but it was unnecessary and seriously limits the cockpit seating which is what you want on a picnic boat like this, but with all its narrow and hopeless ways, I still like it... although wouldn't want to own it.

100% agreed. It is a characterful boat with many very nice features. If I saw it moored say on Lymington town quay I would stop and admire and chat about it. But I wouldn't want to own it (at any price; I'm making no comment on the asking price)

Even Travelodge have Grohe these days (or so I'm told). Talking of Grohe, I net one of their top guys in India a few years ago. Hwvqas travelling the country selling their wares in the company Corporate Jet. Nice!

Talking of Grohe, ...
Were we??!! :D
Nothing wrong with Hansgrohe (I have them throughout on my boat) but Grohe is a separate business serving ao commercial proejects like hotel chain fitouts. Hansgrohe is much more high end domestic stuff than Grohe, and much nicer. Same original family, but completely separate businesses almost forever

Had to flick through to pics a few times - and relook at some bits .

Its a marmite boat . Will polarise opinions here>
Also looks like the maintenance-o-meter is turned up to max -which granted may be one its appealing factors -perhaps some folks like the smell of varnish :)and are built like a "racing snake" to get round those engines .
Not keen on the eating off the floor type table .
I think it will end up with a ex raggie to be used as a day boat in a N European estuary , who has plenty of time on there hands .

Sorry should have said 'talking of Travelodge taps'. Hadn't realised they were separate businesses with separate designs I assume? Anyhow, sorry for the thread drift.
