Looks like the White Mischief replacement will be coming from Swansea and will be what is referred to as a 'project'.

Broker being a broker of course now won't return emails now he has my deposit, hey ho. One of the things he was supposed to be doing was providing contact details for work I want to get done before bringing her back.

Apparently there is someone around who will do cover repairs - there is a seam that needs to be restitched, pretty minor but want it done before we come back to Portishead.

Also there is apparently someone who is good at interiors, one of the cabins needs to be completely relined. This is less minor!

Anyone got any ideas who could do this in Swansea and contact details?

There is a guy who works at the marina called Simon who repairs sails hoods etc. He did a good job on my damaged sail. I'll PM you with his number.

Allan would you please PM me the details as well......I need to get a price for a cockpit tent and my boat lives in Swansea Marina.

I'll be going to the marina tomorrow . If you want me to check on anything .

Are you a professional type person then? The deal is not completely done yet, hoping to get the sea trial done this weekend but its going to be busy down there apparently due to the sealine weekend.

The 2 main bits that I will need doing are the cabin relining and the cover repaired. Thats before I start with my bits.

Professional capacity ? Not really , I sometimes do engine work and smaller electrical jobs for people and I do fabric repair work for myself and friends but I do not think it would be up to the standard you require . I meant it as a courtesy , A pair of eyes on the ground .

Ah I see, thanks very much for the offer :-)

I'm really looking for prices at the moment, I can't actually go ahead with anything untill I complete which is now not looking like the commencing the 30th. Annoying cos I will miss the bank holiday weekend.

why bother with sea trials then, unless the boat is a one off? You can find out how it sails in other ways, and you willonly get an idea of performance in one set of conditions in a sea trial.

I'm not worried about she sails, I'm worried about whether she is mechanically sound - make sure the engines will rev to the right amounts, something like the expected speed achieved, make sure the engines don't chuck out huge amounts of oil etc etc. There will be an engineer on board too. Its almost like a pre-survey, if it fails this there is no point going ahead with the full survey.
