Strange clicking noises from the front wheel this morning. Think I might need to look at the bearings. Anybody know how to do this?

Just check it isn't your spoke mounted speed sensor magnet clicking against the fork mounted sensor.

Also check that the spokes are all tight. Could be a loose one. £10 ish to get a bike shop to true the wheel. They will check the bearings too.

Learned a lot about bike maintenance doing all this. I have adjusted the steering head and gears, and fitted a new gear cable. But the bike is going into the shop next Tuesday for a new chain and cassette and to get the back wheel trued again. Should be all ready for the off once that's done.

Yep. All sensible stuff. Had mine checked over last week, new rear gear cable, and front and rears adjusted. Need to get an inner tube to take on the day, and a quick wash and brush up and she'll do.
