The week after the Fittting Up supper the boat is coming out of the water (I know I know:p). Anyway one of the jobs is to replace the ball valve on the heads outlet. To do this I need two spanners (Ball valve and locking ring) but the thing is 55mm across the flats. That's big and two car mechanics I know don't have stuff that big. I have some Stilsons that are big enough but I'd like something more subtle too. Anybody got a BIG spanner they can lend me please:)

would a chain wrench do the job they are available @ most car part factors

I have, but the cost of getting it to you would preclude a loan.

Chat up your local metalwork shop, get them to make one out of some 6mm plate, no great stress to undo a fitting, so no need to be that strong.

Moody Sabre, when you find your spanners, any chance you could pop down to Dover and do mine. There will be a beer in it...oh twist my arm two beers.:)

It's on my to do list and am also having probs sourcing spanners.

My king dick stretches to 45mm so comes in a bit short for the job but the father in law apparently has an even bigger king dick, will get back to you when I've asked him how big it really is. If he has a big enough king dick I'll ask him to drop it off here and maybe Clive can collect on his way to the supper. I'm sure FiL won't object to anyone using his king dick as he's not using it much these days.
