Need Lodestar Oar

I have a Lodestar Ultralight 220; one oar has broken (the steel pin has broken off). I need another pair of Lodestar ultralight oars or oars compatible with the Lodestar rowlocks. I can get any joy out of Lodestar or their UK dealer.

Try a different LodeStar dealer, there are several in the UK.

When you say steel pin do you mean the sprung loaded pin that locks the two pieces of the oar together because these are readily available on eBay etc in a variety of sizes

The UK agent has closed down, if you look online, you will find the Lodestar agent in the netherlands. He is a pain to get hold of, and any action from, but after considerable persistence I managed to get some valve fittings for my lodestar

No, I am referring to the pin that is integral to the oar and locates into the hole on each side of the dinghy. Seems to be a design unique to Lodestar, which is the problem

I'm not familiar with that design. On my Lodestar the pin is attached to the tube not the oar. The oar just has a bush with a hole through the middle. Good luck with your search

Mine too, but perhaps other and/or earlier models were different.

Ockham says; they didn't design their own patent oar attaching system, they bought one that already existed. Are you sure it's not one of these or at least very similar?

Sorry to return to a thread over year ago - but after advertising persuasion I bought (imported from the Netherlands) a LodeStar Ultralight 275 inflatable. It might be a quality item, but should you require technical support - forget it. No reply from their "help" address and nowhere else to try! I lost the dual pump hose adaptor which fits the inflatable valve - find another Halkey-Roberts which fits the hose - no chance.
Anyway, my concern is also the oar attachment. The UL 275, unlike other models is not fitted with a through shaft pin, but has holding collars either side of the oar clamp. (the tube to oarshaft clamp)
I really hope that makes sense, I don't have posh camera phone.
I am worried about trying to remove these holding oar shaft collars without damaging them.
Just can't remove the oars to store the inflatable!
Lodestar can't help - I shall be shocked if anyone else can!!

I did eventually manage to locate a spare oar for my Lodestar, but had to get it from the States! UK and EU dealers useless . I got the replacement oar from www.perfprotech.com . The oar cost $40, the postage $100!! But it works fine. Hope this helps. The Lodestar is a fine dinghy, but I will never buy another due to lack on after-sales service.
Ross, if your oar fittings are similar to mine, you can easily remove the oars by rotating the oar 180 degrees and lifting it out - no need to remove the collar; the collar and pin stays with the oar

I don't think our oars are the same - the only Lodestar pic I've seen of my type is on the UL with larger sizes. The oar rotates fully around and revolves inside it s holder. I took a picture of it with my camera but I just can't find the way to transfer it to my reply!
