Hi guys,

I really hope someone can think of what make this boat could be. Its a little like marmite, you eiher like it or hate it but from a young age i have always wanted this boat as it sat in our marina and just got neglected. Then it was towed away and I just found it the other day at he other side of the lake. I was driving and caught it out of the corner of my eye, so i had to quickly run and take some pictures because I really would like to know what it is.

Its on Lough Erne in Northern Ireland.

Here's hoping you guys can come up with something.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Kind Regards
Ross

Looks like a Cygnus 23 with a different top than you would normally see as they were all mostly built as fishing vessels. By the look for her and how she is sitting in the water there are no engines or interior, she is sitting very light in the water.

Good hull if that style is your thing. Looks fairly ropey and has been sat afloat for good few years.

Base it on just buying an old hull (that will need work) and go from there subject to hull survey etc.

Beware though, that is a mammoth task ahead of you and you will spend at least twice what you budget and probably worth a lot less than the cost when you finish. As many on here will tell you there are these sorts of projects abandoned all over the place, great idea but serious commitment.

Sorry if that sounds negative but take it from me , been there, done that and never again ;-(

Thanks Nautical and the other kind people who resized my images and made them viewable. There is just something about this boat which i love, dont know why to be honest. I cant find the owner, there are registration numbers on the side and I have contacted the warden however he claims the boat was sold and unregistered so he has no records of the owner. It has been there for years and years and i hadn't noticed but she is sitting well up out of the water so it is likely there are no engines or interior. When it left the marina i am in, the engines where reported not to work and she was towed away, that must be 7 years ago now though. I'd be tempted to offer the guy a few hundred and take it off his hands, maybe buy a second had inboard from somewhere and just take my time as something to work on, however not being great with my hands it might be too big a project to take on. Would be nice to see her running around again though. Its on private property so I suppose I was trespassing when taking the pictures, would love to get a look inside her and see what sort of space there is to play with.

Any more advice or ideas are big time welcome.

Thanks so much guys!
Ross
