Sorry folks,

but I´ve got to bother you again with an unknown type of boat.... the main difference is that this time I`ve already bought it! :)

Here`s the data that I have:
Length: 8.5m breadth: 2.9m Depth: 1.2m astern

Hull is made from VERY thick fiberglass, deck as well, superstructure partly from wood covered with fiberglass
Inside is mainly wood, doesn`t look like an amateur´s work. The boat is powered by a Farymann R30 diesel. I`d love to know the manufacturer.....

:)Looks totally bomb proof, whatever she is. Congratulations on your new purchase. May she bring you much happiness.

..... as long as you did not intend to purchase this one:

Solved. It is a Colvic-Watson, found a builder`s plate on close inspection. Had to bail out of the deal though because of the low wheelhouse- I`m 6´4" and that was way too shallow for me. Even had a hard time to fit through these tiny doors..... the Farymann didn`t turn over and some other leaks & faults. Still a bargain for just 4K (Euros!) but I would have needed a big shop for keeping the boat inside, first to let it dry out, then fit a new engine and after that a new wheelhouse...... too much work for me. Got me another one that just needs some cleaning and paint here and there.....
Thank you all for your help!

Hello
After 11 years research and writing the History of the Colvic Watson Motorsailor and also carrying out 'Pre Buying Inspection visits' for over eighteen years I have never come across a Colvic Watson
looking quite like this.:)
The sizes given would indicate a CW 28'-6" but the other dimensions don't quite match. A CW 28'-6" is :-
Length O/L 8.69m , Length W/L 7.85m, Beam 3.05m, Draft 1.22m, displacement 7-8 tons (depending on weight of engine fitted)

However the coachroof/wheelhouse are totally different to a CW and the tabernacle is too far forward ,even the aft cabin version of the CW is completely different, the bow does look similar to CW
One thing to check on the canoe stern is look about 250/300 mm down from the top of the gunnels for a 'mould number', it will be a four digit number, look about 250mm down from the top of the gunnels
it will be a four diget number about 12mm h x 30mm long see attached sample,
Colvic Craft 'hot stamped' all their moulds during the hull manufacture and this will also tell us the year the mould was manufactured (not the launch date which would be later)

I will ask other group members for there opinion

If I can help further please ask or PM me your email and contact me direct

Love to see the builders plate ?? Colvic Craft never fitted one, what you may have found is a boatyard build plate but of interest would like to know

I would say the bow is too 'straight' for a Fisher, the Northeaster/30 has a slight curve in it. But the cabin does look like a Northeaster.
