Need help to identify.

I was hoping that someone here will be able to shed light on what type of boat this is?
The suggestions so far are. 1) Shetland Yawl. 2)Stroma Yawl. 3 Something of Orcadian origin?
She was lug rigged. I have the mast which is unstayed and held by a thwart at the fwd end.
Any help giving a positive identity will be greatly appreciated.

Not a yawl if it has only one mast. To be a yawl it must have a mizzen mast aft of the rudder post.

that is true in modern English usage, but a couple centuries ago, perhaps spelt yoal, it was applied to the type of vessel illustrated

In Scottish fishing tongue a Yawl/Yahl/Yoal (dependent on accent) describes a small sailing, and often motorised, craft as well as a twin masted vessel.

Wash your mouth out She looks a bit scabby but she'll buff up well. Only one slightly damaged plank and only about two inches of soft wood on the stem which should be easy enough to repair.----However I might be less enthusiastic in six months. There's always Up Helly Aa!
