Need to find access to a lathe to make a small spigot/bush for the installation of my wind gen pole base.
My usual source of all things turning has decided to use his NHS allocation and have new heart valves fitted so will be out of operation duties for a little while, his timing is impeccable:):).

So is there a, local to Maldon, forumite out there with a lathe that I have the use of for an hour or so to turn up a delrin/acetal bush of some 50 mm dia and 50 mm length and it need to have a 41 mm hole bored down its middle.

Of course if the lathe owner would like to do it for me then that would also be fine. We men can be very protective of our precious tools. :D

If no one else offers I have a 'microlathe' thingy. I inherited it from my late FinL. It's useful for little model making jobs but not much good for steel or very accurate work.

I turned a bush for the furler on my old Seawych out of a lump of brass, took ages, but is still working years later (the Seawych lives in Maylandsea with a new owner). I am used to proper lathes and the Microlathe is not one of them.

However, having given it a slagging if you want to borrow it your very welcome, it is very transportable and sits nicely on a table top.

Excellent Steve, could I keep that powder dry and will e mail you later. The bit of bar stock is winging its way to me now so I have time to ponder my options.
