Need a new torch. Waterproof, LED and rubberised. Preferable non-rechargable

I purchased a Fenix SD10 about 12 months ago.

This is a "proper" diving torch rated to 100m. Most of the good quality torches are are reasonably waterproof and you can even use them for shallow diving, but this is not recommended. Having at least one proper diving torch is reassuring.

The Fenix SD10 is good torch overall. The waterproof feature does not seem to add much to cost (compared to similar torch) and this is an anodised aluminium torch rather than one of the plastic alternatives. The aluminium acts as much better heat sink and allows the torch to be used at full brightness when not underwater.

There are a couple of drawbacks. It only has 3 output levels (rather than 4-5) and these are switched by "shaking" the torch (to avoid a switch which may leak). This is bit hit and miss, but does mean you can change the brightness without using the other hand which can be useful when crawling into tight spaces or hanging on with one hand.

It uses lithium batteries. Rechargeable or non rechargeable. The non rechargeable lithium batteries have a very long storage life and do not leak so are an ideal as power source for emergency torch that is rarely used. They are more reliable than alkaline batteries. However, they are expensive unless you buy them in bulk.
Rechargeable lithium batteries are a great battery for regularly use, but you need a charger. If you want to use alkaline batteries this torch is not suitable.

One final bug is that it round without any square edge to prevent in rolling around, not ideal for a boat.
