NECO autohelm ?

I have a Neco autohelm (actually it's removed) that I am considering refitting, but I was wondering if it can be controlled by a more modern style of instrument.
Everything is in working order but I really don't want to fit the dial part of this equipment due to it large (re ugly) and robust style.
Has anybody actually updated this type of equipment.

Yes apparently the man hydraulic motor can be driven Raymarine heads via relays.

of yacht Aventurine tel 0780 895 0325 or g.askewclough@vodafonr.net has fitted these before, i've kept his card incase my neco goes belly up. Hes up in the North west I think on the Weaver.

Mind you the neco does have a certain er charm? very reliable kit IMHO

I picked this up off another thread relating to compasses and these people apparently know of one of the guys who buit the Neco units there is more on these so try a search through the forum. I have one works brilliantly and uses very little power.
