NB O-Rings

A ruler to decide between 1.48mm and 1.52mm thickness? It was hard enough to work out the 8.5mm bore! Still not ordered as I've been busy with work.
I wouldn't have thought that it would make that much difference - a coffee maker is not a precision piece of equipment and rubber 'O' rings are flexible anyway. 8.5 is halfway between 8 and 9mm and is easily discernible to the naked eye. My steel rule is graduated in half millimeters.

My £9.99 digital vernier has to be near the top of my most used tools. Mine came from (now defunct) NETTO, but they regularly come up at ALDI/LIDL.

(the beautiful mechanical micrometer ... must be over 80yrs old and imperial of course ... seldom comes out of it's case; now seems such a palaver in comparison).

Hadn't thought of that, thanks Vic I'll see if I can find one.

Ditto, but my micrometer is perhaps only 40 years old.

I bought this one on Amazon. In fact I bought two, one for home and one for the boat.
