Navy Majoni fenders on white grp (not painted) hull

Well the point was that an alternative could be purchased at a third the price not counting delivery
The point may have been of interest or not to others
But being an HR owner that is probably of no concern to you:p

The OP had, it seems, already decided to buy Majoni fenders, which are good quality. You can get the size 4 he mentioned for about £17, excluding delivery. We'd probably all be interested in where you think you can get similar fenders for a third of that!

Oh, and I'm lucky enough to own a Hallberg Rassy because I have a keen understanding of value, and most of my fenders are around 20 years old.

Hello,

Just checking back in. Thank you very much to all of the forum members who have taken the time to reply. Lots of food for thought. Not all that keen on fender socks as we spend a lot of time up against harbour walls rather than pontoons ...and that's where the dark things live (or so I'm told). I decided on Majoni fenders based primarily on price (I'm buying six) given that I had no indication of quality across different manufacturers. I'm not sure that paying more always equates to a better product - sometimes you're just paying more. It looks like the navy just shades the white in terms of member's experience and opinions, so one last check of the internal measurement of the locker to ensure I can fit six size/star fours in there ...and then I'll get on with it.

Thanks once again for your help!

I should not have to point it out but i already have posted that info in thread no. 8
But of course , you would have read that first, wouldn't you!!

Yes, I did. Spherical buoys for a fiver. But practically useless in most marina berthing situations.

Like arguements, boats have 2 sides--- even in marinas!!
I carry a selection of fenders & i find spherical excellent in marinas. I use them between my boat & the one in the adjoining berth, or when rafting, or under the stern quarter where the extra diameter is useful, or agaist a lock wall, Or......

Still to each his own

My experience is with Polyform white fenders with navy tops. The navy tops used to leave marks on my white gelcoat in the cockpit when handled in and out of the storage locker, the marks could be removed only with polish paste and some effort, so I have replaced them with all white fenders.

Not on my polyform fenders, white with blue ends, >10 years use and still good. Read Compass Marine site.

"Moulded-in blue tops (not painted) guaranteed not to mark."

OK, not a surface coating although I'm not sure what they mean.
Haydude says they do mark though.
