am i stupid? don't answer. how do you decide which stations to receive from?? as i seem to be bombarded with french info?

As you turn the set on you have a choice to program which stations you receive and which alerts you receive the instructions can be obtained off the navtex site

Pick a station from here and programme it in as the only station you wish to receive.

Navtex is broadcast on two frequencies. 490 which is the local non English and 518 which is the English International. I suspect you have two channel receiver which is 'tuned' to the 490 frequency. Your menu should tell you how to switch to 518.
